AUGUST WAGE (d. 1921)

DEATH COMES TO END SUFFERING OF AUGUST WAGE
After several months of intense suffering from an affection of the throat
death came to August Wage as a welcome relief this morning. The decedent
was a native of Germany where he was born March 2, 1861, coming to this
country and city with his sister, Mrs. Herman Gruenke, when he was but
eight years old. For more than thirty years he was employed at the plant
of the William Rahr Sons Co. Besides his wife he is survived by nine
children. They are William, Max and August in Milwaukee, Walter in Chicago
and Henry, Carl, Clarence and Reinhart and Miss Anna Wage of this city.
The funeral will take place from the late home, 1308 South Eighth street,
at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, with interment at Evergreen. Mr. Wage
was extensively and favorably known in this city and vicinity and very
popular for his many good traits, particularly kindness of heart which
found expression in his relations with his wide circle of friends.
