Clifford Vernon Jones passed peacefully away at home after an exhausting four year battle with Lyme's Disease, complicated in his final two months by cancer. Through it all he kept his humor, keen wit, wisdom, love of life, deep love for family and friends, and most dear of all, his devotion to our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Cliff was born in Firth, ID to Buck and Ethel Jones, who later relocated to Utah. Cliff graduated from Jordan High School and was a true Beet Digger! He joined the National Guard while in school; but was honorably discharged to serve a two year mission to Southern Australia for the LDS church. He rejoined the Guard after his mission and was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis. Cliff was deeply honored to have served both his church and country. Cliff believed strongly in striving for self improvement and desired to become a better husband, father, and friend to all while reading, listening to tapes and CD's, and attending many workshops and seminars throughout his lifetime. Cliff married Bonnie Stewart on 9/25/62. Later divorced. He married Cheryl Griffith Wyman on 10/6/2006; they enjoyed six short but incredibly joyous years together. Cliff is survived by wife, Cheryl; children, DaNae (Gary) Leu, Shana Lyn, Stewart (Brooke), Brent (Chase McDonald), Randa (Sean) Dye, Danielle (Matt Cartwright); stepchildren, Russell (Michelle) Alley, Adam (Lynn) Alley, Anthony (Vannessa) Naeata, Tana Naeata; 19 beloved grandchildren; siblings, Peggy Davis, Velma Young, Kay (Eugene) Mantle, Melvin (Fay), Stanley (Doriesa), Laura, Carla (Wally) Hardy, John (Kathy); sister-in-law, Nancy; many nieces and nephews. Cliff is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Glen; sister, Doris; and brothers-in-law, Ralph Davis and Michael Young. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Eastridge 1st Ward, 552 East 11400 South, Sandy, Utah. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday evening at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah and at the church 1 hour prior to the services. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
