On Saturday morning, July 4, 2015, William Elick Curtis, age 75, of Rocky Face, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, Elick William “E.W.” Curtis, his mother, Maude Emmaline Ray Curtis, three brothers and three sisters, Joe Wesley Curtis, Richard Curtis, Guinn Harold Curtis, Margaret Curtis, Virginia Dail Curtis Phillips and Rachel Lucinda Curtis Manis, and his loving wife of forty-nine years, Joan Phyllis Watkins Curtis.

William is survived by two sisters, Betty Curtis Gohley and Marie Curtis Caldwell; three children, daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Tommy Sluder of Dalton, GA; son, William “Bill” Curtis of Rocky Face, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Dia Curtis of Chatsworth, GA; seven granddaughters, Jodi Dominick, Heather Dominick, Courtney Barrett, Katelynn Curtis, Kiya Curtis, Abigail Curtis, Alisha Sluder; four great-grandsons, six great-granddaughters, one great-great-grandson and two great-great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. William Elick Curtis will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastors, J.R. Holcomb, Darey Kittle, Bill Walker and Brother Wayne Saylors officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
