GREENSBORO — Mr. John Fletcher McAdams, Sr., 82 departed from this life on Monday, October 4, 2010, at Heritage Greens.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010, at Saint John's United Methodist Church in Greensboro, with Rev. Mike Collins officiating. A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. that same day at Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery in Mebane, NC.

Born in Orange County, February 7, 1928, to the late Alson and Eva McAdams, Mr. McAdams was a member of Saint John's United Methodist Church. He served as an Usher at the church, as well as being a member of the Men's Club. He graduated from the University of High Point with a degree in Business Administration and retired from Jefferson Pilot after 37 years of employment. John also served his country in the United States Army Air Force from 1946 to 1949. He enjoyed playing the piano and most of all spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Mary Ruggles McAdams of the home; son, John "Jeff" McAdams, Jr., of High Point; daughter, Nancy McAdams Skinner and her husband Alan of Richmond, VA; brother, Charles K. McAdams of Raleigh; and many nieces and nephews.
