summons Sunday morning. She had
heard a commotion in the poultry yard
and called to her husband who had not
yet awakened that there was "some-
thing wrong with the chickens."
He was partly awake when he heard a
peculiar gasping sound and sprang
from his bed to find his wife lying
unconscious beside him. He set to work
immediately to restore her but she
died without regaining consciousness.
Dr. Tarbox was called and found
that her death had been caused by,
heart trouble. While Mrs. Hatch had
never been a well woman—she was af-
flicted with dropsy—she had been
apparently in her usual health the day
"before.. She had made no complaint
at least, if she was feeling badly and
had done a big day's work.
She leaves a husband and two child-
ren to mourn her sudden demise, one
being a child of about eight years,
while the other is but three months
old.
The funeral occurred Tuesday after-
noon, the interment being made in
Oak Knoll cemetery.
