Daughter of the late Jerry and Gertrude Spragg, she was the widow of Mearl C. Freeland, who died on October 20, 1999. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Burton, WV. Her Funeral was held on Marrch 15, 2003, with The Rev. Warren Martens officiating. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Spragg and Denzil Spragg, and by one sister, Genova Bissett McMasters. She was survived by one daughter, Donna Fay Smith; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred "Midge" Cunningham and Wilma Yeager; and an extended family of relatives.
