JAMES MANION DEAD. Former Jo Daviess County Man Dies in Minnesota. James Manion at one time a resident of Jo Daviess county but for the past four years a citizen of St. Cloud, Minnesota, died at his home at that place Wednesday at the advanced age of eighty three years. The deceased was a native of Ireland. Upon coming to the United States, he lived for several years in Hanover township, removing in 1885 to Ramsen, Ia. He made his home at Ramsen for about eight years, when he again moved to Hanover township where he lived up to about four years ago when the family moved to St. Cloud, where he lived up to the time of his death. Mr. Manion is survived by ten children, his wife having died thirty years ago. The children are: Mrs. Daniel McCormick [Mary Manion], of Iona, Minn.; Mrs. David McCormick [Elizabeth Manion], of St. Cloud, Minn.; Mrs. J. F. Slayne [John Francis Slane] [Catharine Manion], of Jasper, Minn.; Mrs. Rufus Amos [Metildie/Matilda Manion], of Aylward, Ia.; Mrs. Myron Richie [Helen Agnes Manion], of Napa, Calif.; Miss Bessie [Bridget] Manion, of LaMars, Ia.; John, of Pierre, S.D.; J. H. [James H.] and Michael, of Jasper, Minn.; and Thomas of Dickenson, N.D. A son, Peter, died at Buffalo, N.Y. five years ago.
