Born June 20, 1891, in Fayette County, he was a son of Lewis and Mary Phillips Blake.
Mr. Blake was a retired coal miner and a member of United Mine Workers.
His wife, Biddie Treadway Blake died in November and two sons, Grover and Earl, preceded him in death.
Survivors include four sons, Denzil and Russell Blake, both of Beckley, Lewis Blake and Dennis Blake Jr., both of Prosperity; two daughters, Myrtle Ward of Skelton and Margaret Mann of Potomac, Mich.; 33 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Rose and Quesenberry Peace chapel in Beckley with the Rev. Ernest Barley officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity.
Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Danny Blake, Jimmy Blake, Lewis Denver Blake, John Ward, Ernie Blake, bobby Blake and Dennis Blake.
