Grant Barrow, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed from this earthly life to join his Lord and Savior and other loved ones in heaven, Friday, Aug. 17, 2012. Service: 1 p.m. Monday at New Hope Fellowship, 6410 S. Freeway, Fort Worth, 76134. Interment: 3:30 p.m. Monday in Italy Cemetery, Italy, Texas. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Memorials: The family asks that donations be made to New Hope Fellowship or any Alzheimer's Association.

Grant was born in Bell Branch on Aug. 30, 1928, to Lee and Ressie Barrow. He graduated from Forreston High School and joined the U.S. Army where served with the American Occupation Forces in Korea. On Dec. 7, 1949, he married Billye Cornwell and together they started a family. Grant supported his family by working for Consolidated Aircraft, which is now Lockheed Martin, and then for Winn-Dixie for 30 years. After he retired, he was a consultant for Leaman Container and then he settled into what he loved best, God and his family and being outside. Grant was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Roy Hoote.

Survivors: Left to cherish Grant's memory and rejoice in his presence with the Lord are his wife of 62 years, Billye Barrow; daughters, Teresa Hoote, and Phyllis Barrow Sink and husband, Stephen; grandchildren, Tommy Attebery and wife, Cassidy, and Todd Attebery and wife, Lacey; great-grandchildren, Grant and Trey; sisters, Charlene Brown, and Maryln Crowell and husband, Kenneth; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
