Kitty Hawk - John L. Beacham, Jr., 91, passed from this life Aug. 14, 2012. John was a native of Dare County, NC. He established his career and raised his family in Virginia Beach, but ultimately retired to Kitty Hawk. John is a veteran of World War II where he served in the Atlantic Theater of Operations as a Chief Gunners Mate, U. S. Coast Guard. After the war, he graduated from the Norfolk Naval Base Apprentice School program and joined the Norfolk Naval Air Rework Facility, retiring with over 35 years of Federal Service. John was active with the former First Assembly of God Church in Virginia Beach, where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, and Sunday School teacher.

John is survived by his four children: Duane Beacham of Virginia Beach, Don Beacham of Indianapolis, IN, John L. Beacham, III of Virginia Beach, and Debbie Beacham Snyder of Virginia Beach, along with 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; four immediate family siblings, Joyce Jackson and Terry D. Beacham of Elizabeth City, NC, Stanley R. Beacham of Manteo, NC, and Jimmie A. Beacham of Kitty Hawk. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Aldean Beacham, his parents, John L. Beacham, Sr. and Ruth Dough Beacham, and three brothers, Royce A. Beacham, Hope L. Beacham [see 53755114], and Conley R. Beacham.

A grave side ceremony will be conducted at the Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk Mon., Aug. 20, 2012 by Rev. Reggie L. Parker of Elizabeth City NC.
