MRS. HERMAN LILLY
Mrs. LaNona Berlin Lilly, 22, wife of Herman
Lilly, died Monday morning in the receiving
hospital at Webb City of the Missouri Tubercu-
losis Sanatorium at Mt. Vernon. She was taken
to the hospital Friday in the hope that her con-
dition would improve sufficiently to enter her in
the tuberculosis sanatorium for the long term
specific treatment afforded there by the State
of Missouri. Her condition, however, was too
serious to make it possible for her to rally.
Mrs. Lilly, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Berlin, was born June 29, 1914, on a farm west
of Monroe City, and had spent all of her life in
this community. Her marriage to Herman Lilly
took place January 6, 1936. Surviving with the
husband and parents are two sisters and two
brothers, Mrs. Leonard Long, near Monroe City
and Betty, Buell and Clyde Berlin of their parents
home. She is survived also by her paternal grand-
father William Berlin of Wichita, Kansas, and her
step-great-grandfather George Hardesty of this
city.
Funeral services will be held from the Wilson
& Son Funeral Home at 2 o'clock this Thursday
afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Beryl S. Kinser,
pastor of the Monroe City Christian Church. Burial
will be in Andrew Chapel cemetery.
