Mrs. John Sivek, beloved resident of the city 46 years passed away Sunday noon at her home, 703 West Seventh Street. She was 61 years old.
Mrs. Sivek was formerly Miss Victoria Bartisek. She was born in Poland, Dec. 23, 1870, coming to this country at the age of 15 and locating in Traverse City. Her marriage to John Sivek took place 47 years ago and the couple had since made their home here. She belonged to the Immaculate Conception Church and had long been an ardent worker in church circles. She was also a valuable member of the Ladies' Alter Society, and will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends.
Left to mourn their loss are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Helen Wransky and Mrs. Frances Moore of this city and two sons, Thomas of Traverse City and Norbert of Grand Rapids, besides nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at nine o'clock at the Immaculate Conception Church. Rev. Fr. Joseph Bocek officiating, and interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery at Oakwood.
