STATESBORO - Mrs. Gwendolyn Brack Brooks Douglas, 58, entered into rest Saturday, July 5, 2008, at the Heritage Inn Health & Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. The Bulloch County native lived in New Jersey many years before moving to Statesboro eight years ago. Mrs. Douglas was a retired nurse and was a former substitute teacher for the Bulloch County Board of Education. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.

She is survived by her loving children, Antwoine Brooks, New York, N.Y., Kajawanna Brooks, Statesboro, Rajal Brooks, New Jersey, N.J., Damion Brooks, Jaquan Brooks, Quatisha Brooks, all of Statesboro, and Dorcas Brooks, New Jersey, N.J.; her mother, Eva Mae Childs, Statesboro; five sisters, Lawanda Jackson, New York, N.Y.; Phoebe Jackson and Lisa Bell, both of New Jersey, N.J., Bettie Hodge and Cathy Hooper; three brothers, James Brack, Atlanta, Danny Brack, Los Angeles, Calif., and Frank Jackson, New Jersey, N.J.; 15 grandchildren, former husbands, Edward Brooks, Statesboro, and Lloyd Douglas, Philadelphia, Pa,; several aunts, a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Douglas will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008, in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc. with Brother Harmon Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastside Cemetery. Final rites entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
