Ethnic Germans living in the portion of Prussia that is now Poland , he emigrated with his parents in 1881. After growing up in Symco and starting a blacksmith business of his own , he moved his family to Lyndon where he found an available farm. In 1921 , after his sons moved to Milwaukee, he moved his wife and younger children to Milwaukee so they could be together. Within months of moving there, this former blacksmith, former farmer now living on 32nd and St Paul and relatively unemployable in the fast paced big city, was hit by a train and killed. I am wondering whether this was an accident. He raised a great family and the children all remembered with great love their upbringing and their father
