This grave is on a small island in the swamp on what was the late 1700's Coachman property. It is located in the Yauhannah/Plantersville area. It is on private property, extremely difficult to reach, and prone to snakes in warm weather! There is one tombstone and ten unmarked graves. One of these is thought to be William Poole Coachman, James's son, that lived on this property but predeceased his father. James was a Captain in the Revolutionary War. He was married to Hannah Poole and they had:
William Poole Coachman
Hannah Coachman Postell
Joseph Coachman
John Coachman
By his second wife Ann Johnston, he fathered Ann Waites Coachman Donnelly.

Gravesite Details

The tombstone was placed on top of its base and photographed before placing back against the tree, where the caretaker had it. At some point in time it had been broken from the base and if reattached could happen again & possibly break.
