SOUTH SIOUX CITY | Lloyd K. Davis, 77, of South Sioux City passed away at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, Neb., with the Rev. Michael Ring officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City.

Lloyd was born on July 22, 1935, in Salina, Kan., the son of Lloyd K. and Vanita L. (Sparks) Davis. He grew up in Salina and graduated from Salina High School. He entered the U.S. Air Force on August 8, 1952.

Lloyd married Joyce Bruneau on Dec. 1, 1953. While in the service, he traveled to various parts of the world and was involved in two wars. He retired from the Air Force as a senior master sergeant on May 31, 1973. Upon his retirement, the couple moved to Walthill and he worked for Omaha Line Hydraulics for 23 years. When the company moved to North Sioux City, he moved to South Sioux City, Neb. Joyce passed away on Aug. 14, 2010.

Lloyd was a member of the Non-Commissioned Officers Association and was a volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Brad Davis of Illinois, John and his wife, Michelle Cain of South Sioux City, Chuck and his wife, Michelle Davis of Rosalie, Neb., and Sheila King of South Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Vanita Davis; his wife, Joyce Davis; one son, Roger Davis; one granddaughter, Charity Cain; one brother, Denny Davis; and two sisters, Teresa Ozmet and Shirley Schmidt.
