Betsy was the d/o David and Sarah Barnett. She married Phillip Pinkney PP Davis about 1850 and was with him until he died during the Civil War.

Elizabeth Barnett Davis, widow of Philip Pinkney Davis, and Simon Drury Davis, who lost a leg in battle, both settled in the Macon/Swain County area (Swain County formed out of Macon in 1871). Perhaps they sold their land in Cleveland or lost it if unable to pay the taxes and migrated to the western part of the state where land was cheaper. She moved on to Fannin Co., GA and family records indicate she died after 1903 and was buried in an unmarked grave at the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery .

Dear betsey it is with pleasure that I embrace the oppertunity of writing you a few lines to let you know how I am getting along I am not very wel [remainder is unreadable]__________ I hope thes few lines will find you all wel and doing the same I havent any news of interest to write tel Nancy Philbeck to nit or make me a nite cap if she __________ and send ________ Write how youre turnip patch is I must close as it is geting dark youre affecseanate husband
