Fatal Burns Suffered By Brillion Man

Fred W. Buboltz, 81, Rt. 1, Brillion, was burned to death Tuesday when he fell into a brush fire on a family farm about one-half mile west of here.

According to Calumet County Coroner William A. Langmack, Buboltz died of burns apparently after suffering a heart and fell into the fire he was tending.
Ray Stern a nephew of Buboltz and Eddie Haise noticed the raging fire, investigated and called Brillion firemen who brought the fire under control and saved a nearby woods. Stern and Haise had been working on the adjoining farm.

Fred W. Buboltz was born Nov 1, 1875 in the Town of Brillion a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried Buboltz. On Dec. 18, 1901, he was married to Miss Katherine Schwandner who preceded him in death Aug. 27, 1956. He had operated his present farm since his marriage.

He is survived by four sons, Melvin, living on the Buboltz farm, Almond of Brillion, Reuben of Sheboygan, and Arthur of Reedsville; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Cora) Henning and Mrs. Ed (Clara) Wallersheim, both of Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Carroll (Sara) Rosenberger of Neenah; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six brothers, Ernest of Brillion, Henry, Albert and Ed of Antigo, and August and John of Cook, Minn., and a sister, Mrs. Amelia Stern. A daughter Myrtle preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bartholomew Lutheran Church, Town of Kasson. In the absence of the Rev. Melvin Croll, the services will be conducted by Dr. Koch. Burial will be made in Community Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Luecker Funeral Home, Brillion, after 2 p.m. Thursday until 10:30 a.m. Friday and at the church from noon until the time of services.
