William Carr Passes Away

After many months of intense suffering, William Carr passed away at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas L. Carr east of town. This is a sad blow to his heart broken parents who done everything in their power to save him but to no avail.
William Carr was born at Chariton, Ia., Apr 21, 1889 and died Saturday Oct 9, 1915. He grew to young manhood on the farm north of town and was held in respect by everyone as was shown by one of the largest funeral's held at St. Patrick's church for many years. Al lhis former neighbors irrespective of creed attended in great numbers. Rev. Father McCormick celebrated the requiem high mass and preached the funeral oration. Rev. Father Troy, of Weller pronounced the final absolution.
The deceased is survived by his parents, and two brothers, Frank Carr, of Weller and Edward at home. Interment was made in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The pall bearers were Ed Murray, Hugh Curran, Jas. J. O'Brien, John Tierney, Wm. Ryan and Stephen Tierney. All Melrose joined in evidence of deep sorrow in his untimely death.
