She was born in Heidberg, MS on December 5, 1926, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary F. (Bunch) Reid.
Mrs. Hales came to Niagara Falls in 1946 and was employed with the Carborundum Corp. for many years, before retiring in 1987.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and the Church's Sensuous Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Hales was the wife of the late Rolin Hales, Sr.
She is survived by two sons, Rolin (Jenny) Hales, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, and Rhubin (Mary) Hales of Jersey City, NJ; one daughter, Nettie Hales of Jersey City, NJ; three sisters, Rutha L. Stephens, Charlene Mott and Rosye Johnson; a brother-in-law, Arisco Hales. She is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; her dear friends, Pat and Angie Harrigan; and a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Hales was the mother of the late Albert Charles Hales and Bettie Hales Dudley.
