Wayne R. Brelsford, 80, of Valley View Drive, Mountain Top, passed away Monday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. He was born in Briar Creek, on May 21, 1929. He was a son of the late Russell & Elmira Welter Brelsford. He was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, class of 1947. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from May 1951 to April 1952. He was last employed by Offset Paperback, Dallas, until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre, where he served as a deacon. He served his fellow veterans by volunteering as a driver for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association and the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claire (Pappas) Brelsford; second wife Eleanor (Auman-Salsburg) Brelsford; brother Edward Brelsford. Surviving are sons Douglas E. Brelsford and wife Lorraine, Noxen; Wayne C. Brelsford and wife Adele, Plains Township; David R. Brelsford and wife Marilynn, Allentown; stepdaughter Susan Aaron and husband David, New Jersey; three grandchildren, Melissa, Jesse and Casey; sisters Lois Rondinella, Dallas; Beverly Nelson, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews. Military funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with the Rev. Micki Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call on Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, from 9 to 10 a.m.
