Thomas Niel Dead.
Thomas H. Niel, of 409 South Fifth street, was was stricken with paralysis on Sunday night, and whose condition was reported as very serious yesterday died at his home this morning at 8:40 o'clock. The deceased had apparently been in good health up to Sunday night. He was feeling as well as usual when he retired, but during the night was stricken with paralysis, which rendered him speechless and almost helpless. He grew steadily worse until death came this morning. Mr. Niel was aged 76 years, was an old soldier and leaves a widow and several grown children, Mrs. Jason Campbell of this city being one of the daughters. Mr. Niel was an old settler here and was well known. The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning from the residence, with burial in Riverview cemetery. The local G.A.R. Post, of which the deceased was a member, will attend the funeral in a body and will hold services at the grave.
