Born in Hanover, Pa., he was a son of the late Sterling D. Evans Sr. He was employed as a test deskman for the C&P Telephone Co. He was a member of the VFW Molleville Farm Post 467, the American Legion Carroll Post 31, and the Telephone Company Pioneers. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of Stone Chapel Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Tinkler Armacost of Finksburg; stepfather, J Willard Armacost of Finksburg; two sons, Gerald W. Evans of Westminster and Todd D. Evans at home; one brother, John D. Evans of Dover, Del.; one sister, Mrs. Linda V. Martin of Hampstead; one grandson, Christopher Evans; and his maternal grandfather, John Tinkler of Reisterstown.
