Glad Bailey Dies At Atchison Hospital
Glad Bailey, 85, retired carpenter and farm worker, died at 1 a.m. today at the Atchison hospital, where he had been a patient the past two weeks. He had been in failing health several months.
Funeral services will be held at the Sawin-Dyer chapel at 2 p.m. tomorrow, the Rev Harold Roberts officiating. Pallbarers will be Jess Ashcraft, Ralph Martin, Clarence Mayfield, Lee McCoy, Dan Stanton and Speed Stanton. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
Mr. Bailey was born in the Bean Lake community Dec 6, 1872, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bailey, and for the past 15 years had made his home with Mr. and Mrs. James McCoy, route 1. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
His wife, a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Kenyon of Kansas City, and a brother, Robert Failey(sic) of Atchison, are deceased. He was a cousin of Samp Bailey of Sugar Lake.
