There is some question about Albert's parentage. He went by the name Albert von Bonhorst, but also by Albert Den and certain court records indicate that he was the son of Nicholas A. Den, husband of Ada von Bonhorst. The 1901 birth date is extrapolated from his marriage lic. to Lucille Strunk. Ada did not marry Nick Den until 1906 and there is no suggestion that she was "Buster's" mother. The rest of the family treated him like a brother, though late in life his sister confided that Susannah von Bonhorst was his mother and Nicholas A Den was his father. Nicholas Den was a business partner of Susannah von Bonhorst's husband.
