Born in Killin Scotland. Emigrated to Canada in 1817 on the "Harmony". With his brothers John, Peter, Alex and Duncan. His wife Ann Anderson and four children, Alexander, John, Peter, Christine Ann. They had one child in Canada, Catherine. They settled in the 15th Conncession Indian Land's of Glengarry county.
