Blanche Y. Treffinger, of Sellersville and formerly of Perkasie, PA, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 in the Rockhill Mennonite Community, Sellersville, PA. She was 88. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Treffinger, who died March 17, 2011. Born in Hagersville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Agnes (Yost) Althouse. Mrs. Treffinger was a homemaker. During World War II, she worked for the Snyder Cigar Factory, Perkasie, and in the early 1960's, she worked in the cafeteria at Seventh Street Elementary School, retiring in the early 1980's as the Cafeteria Manager. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Perkasie, where she taught Sunday School in the Nursery Department for many years. She was a member of the Pennridge Senior Center, the Perkasie Town Watch and delivered Meals On Wheels. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cross stitching, reading, baking and canning. She is survived by two sons, Gerald Treffinger and his wife Judith, of Perkasie, and James Treffinger and his wife Dorian, of Lake Mary, FL; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bowman, Jeffrey Treffinger and Lindsay Bush; four great grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Berner and her husband Albert, of Sellersville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Althouse and a sister, Evelyn Althouse. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 28, 2011 in St. Stephen's U.C.C. Cemetery, Perkasie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, 110 N. 6th Street, Perkasie, PA 18944. Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, Inc. Perkasie, PA.
