He remarried Kay in 2000. Daryl and Lorraine moved to Concord in 1961 and resided in the same home until their deaths. Daryl commenced his employment with the college district in 1955 as Assistant Manager of the Bookstore at Diablo Valley College. He remained in the College Bookstore field for the district and upon his retirement in 1988 was working as the General Manager of the bookstores in the three colleges of the district. He enjoyed his work immensely. He served in various capacities over the years for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1950-1952 he fulfilled a full time mission for the church in Illinois and Iowa. Church service brought considerable joy and fulfillment to him and he touched the lives of many over the years.
He is survived by his wife Kay, son Mark (Alvretta) of Christmas Valley, Oregon and daughter Julie (John Lewis) of Vacaville, California, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always considered himself richly blessed because of family members and their love.
