We have been informed of the death of Charles Austin In Washington state but have not received any of the particulars. Mr. Austin resided in this valley for many years on the farm that a portion of the west part of Sargent is now located. When this town was laid out the summer of 1883 Mr. Austin erected the first part of what is now called the Brown Hotel, at that time naming it the Windsor by which it was known for a long time. The writer does not recall when Mr. Austin left this county.
