Wife of Rev. Isaac Robinson. He and three of their children, daughters Emily and Lydia, and a young son named Ephraim, are buried in this same cemetery next to one another. Another daughter, Harriet Robinson, married Dr. Edward R. Hall and is buried in Woodland Cemetery, Keene, Cheshire County, NH.
Esther (Adams) Robinson was the daughter of Deacon Ephraim Adams and his first wife, Betsy (Pierce) Adams. Betsy is said to be a 1st cousin of Gov. Benjamin Pierce of NH, father to US Pres. Franklin Pierce.
Esther and Rev. Isaac Robinson were m. Jan 1, 1810 in Stoddard.
A story about their two unmarried daughters, LYDIA and EMMA Robinson, says that when the parents died, both close together in 1854, the two daughters lived in the family home after that. On Sep 3, 1858, the two women were paid $1,200 by the Executor of the estate; but that night, a burglar entered the house and administered chloroform to both sisters and escaped with all of the money. A county solicitor and a detective from Boston were hired to find the perpetrators, but no one was ever arrested; although apparently one family was suspect.
