In 1850 she and her husband and their son lived in Economy Township, Beaver County, PA. (Economy Township became Economy Borough in 1958.) He worked as a tanner. Her sister Margaret and her husband lived with them. They lived next door to the farm where her parents and her other three siblings lived. Henry was the only one of them not born in Germany.

In 1860 she and Christian and their five children lived in Reserve Township, Allegheny County, PA, in what was known for years as Butchers' Run. He worked as a master tanner, and owned real property worth $2500 and personal property worth $1500.

In 1870 she and her husband and seven of their children--all but Henry, who had just gotten married the previous month--lived there. Christian Senior and Junior both worked as tanners. Senior owned real property worth $9000 and personal property worth $1500.

In 1880 she and Christian and their two youngest children lived in a house at 107 First Street in Allegheny, PA, probably in what is now Allegheny Commons Park. First Street became Foreland Street when Allegheny was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1906.

In addition to the linked children, they had a daughter, Emma (born September 20, 1865), who married Charles Henry Stewart in 1889 and from at least 1910-1930 lived in Jersey City, NJ.
