Guilford -- Irwin C. Burgess, 57, died Dec. 26, 1984, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born in Dover-Foxcroft Nov. 18, 1927, the son of Elton and Eva (Crabtree) Burgess. He was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Guilford High School. He served in the National Guard and the Air Force. He worked as a poultry farmer for a number of years and for the past 15 years he has worked as manager for the Guilford/Sangerville water district.
He is survived by his father of Guilford; his wife, Cynthia (Law) Burgess of Guilford; two sons, Joel of Guilford and Jason of Dover-Foxcroft; one daughter, Rhobe Burgess of Monson; one brother, Glen Burgess of Guilford; one sister, Mrs. Edwin (Avis) Edes of Guilford; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Neal Funeral Home, Guilford, with the Rev. David McLeish officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Spring burial will be in the Guilford Center Cemetery.
