Guilford -- Irwin C. Burgess, 57, died Dec. 26, 1984, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born in Dover-Foxcroft Nov. 18, 1927, the son of Elton and Eva (Crabtree) Burgess. He was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Guilford High School. He served in the National Guard and the Air Force. He worked as a poultry farmer for a number of years and for the past 15 years he has worked as manager for the Guilford/Sangerville water district.
He is survived by his father of Guilford; his wife, Cynthia (Law) Burgess of Guilford; two sons, Joel of Guilford and Jason of Dover-Foxcroft; one daughter, Rhobe Burgess of Monson; one brother, Glen Burgess of Guilford; one sister, Mrs. Edwin (Avis) Edes of Guilford; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Neal Funeral Home, Guilford, with the Rev. David McLeish officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Spring burial will be in the Guilford Center Cemetery. Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to the Tumor Clinic, care of Mayo Regional Hospital, West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, Me. 04426.
