Little Zilla Hicks is dead. No announcement could carry greater sorrow to more hearts than this. Little Zilla was a neighborhood, and indeed a village favorite. Exceptionally bright, always happy, of that sunny generous disposition that never frets or sulks and always wishes to share with others, she wound herself around the heart strings of every one, and the tears are many today. She was sick just thirteen days and though she was but three and a half years old, when her little life went out last evening it left a blank in many lives. Memory, however, of her sweet and winning ways, of her fairy-like looks and acts, of her love and baby thoughtfulness, must soon brighten the gloom and be a balm to bitterly wounded hearts. To her mother and father everyone extends a tender sympathy. The funeral was this morning and was private, but loving hands had lined the grave with flowers and evergreens and the little casket was covered with floral designs. There was a short service at the grave by the Rev. W. H. Medlar.
