PETER TORINO SUCCUMBS TO LENGTHY ILLNESS
Peter Tornio, a well known resident of this city, and Homestake employe, succumbed at his home last evening at 9:15 to an illness of a year and a half duration. He had been steadily growing weaker the past few months, and though his death was not unexpected it nevertheless came as a shock to relatives and friends.
The deceased was born in Lead on January 7, 1901, but when a small child left with his parents for Italy, their homeland. He grew to young manhood there, and returned to the states and Lead, and for the past 19 years had been employed by the Homestake Mining company.
Survivors are his widow, Stella, to whom he was united in marriage in Lead on October 20, 1934, and a son, Peter, Jr., aged 4 years; his mother, brother, and sister, living in Italy; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Dominic Caserio, of Lead; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law living in various parts of the country, and an uncle, Anton Roppolo, in California.
He was a member of the W. O. W. lodge, and St. Patrick’s Catholic church.
