T. G. (Tom) Adkins, 82, of Rt. 4, Greensburg died at 1:45 p.m., May 3, 1971 at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Green County September 22, 1888 and was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. He was a farmer and a former Green County Sheriff. He was a graduate of B.U. and Western State College. He was a veteran of World War I and the Mexican Expedition. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Bertha Adkins of Rt. 4; one daughter Mrs. Mae Nunn of Greensburg; and one son: Thomas L. Adkins of Rt. 4. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister: Jim Adkins of Route 4; John Adkins of Danville, Ky., and Mrs. Ada Judd of Route 2, Greensburg and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, 1971 at the Greasy Creek Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Rev. James Jones and Rev. Eutra Hammett officiated. Foster-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Jerry Wilcoxson, James Judd, Robert Akin, Henry Clay Akin, Udell Montgomery, John Adkins and Kenneth Judd.
