Halvard Andersson, XNGH of Tuleburgh Chapter 69 in 1999 and xcoo of the DB's has gone to the Golden Hills.

He started his career as a photographer after winning several Eastman Kodak awards while attending Enterprise High School in Redding, Ca. His education included the University of Washington, Shasta College, Sonoma State, Telemetry School at Vandenberg AFB and technical school at Treasure Island. He worked for Boeing and then MIT Lincoln Lab during the Cuban Missile Crisis working in several places including Washington, California, Montana, and Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands.

He was a Calibration Lab Tech and Radar Tech at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo. He was a Principal Electronics Tech at the Bevatron at UC Berkeley Lab. He was a Geothermal Electronic Specialist and Crew Chief with the UC Berkeley Hurst Mining Division and traveled the world. He was a Quality Engineer with Systron Donner Inertial Division in Concord.

He semi-retired and moved to Isleton. He worked for the City of Rio Vista on the Public Works crew and then Isleton Public Works crew. He and his friend Bill Knittle formed a company and his restoration work on local old buildings. He served on the Isleton City Council for 8 years. He served for 2 years as Mayor during which time he quit working and devoted his time to the City.

He was instrumental in many City improvements such as the undergrounding of utilities on Main Street and the upgrade of Main Street, establishing parks, the boat dock/fishing access, and the removal of the burned dredge that was undermining the levee. He fought against the City using Eminent Domain to take property. He became a part-time Realtor with Mason MacDuffie, Prudential and PMZ before fully retiring to take care of his wife.

He was a member of the Elks and the Moose, a Master Mason, AARP, lifemember of the NRA, lifemember of the Isleton Brannan-Andrus Historical Society, and especially an officer of equal indignity with the E Clampus Vitus where he served as X-Humbug of Tuleburgh Chapter 69 and member of Joaquin Murrieta Chapter 13, New Helveticia 5, James Marshall 1849 and Yerba Buena Chapter1, X-COO and member of the Dumbellican Brotherhood a division of the Clampers and participated in many historical plaquings in California and Nevada. He was a Major in the Devil Mountain Brigade. Proud participant of Burning Man. Past member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America; Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Club; American Contract Bridge League; Vagabundos Del Mar and others. He was an ordained Minister with the Universal Life Church.

Halvard Andersson Resident of Isleton, Ca Born in Fall River Mills, CA on May 23, 1940 to Emil and Phyllis Andersson of Burney, CA. He passed away on September 18, 2012. He is survived by his wife Charlene Andersson of Isleton, his sister Dru Scott Decker (Bert) of Henderson, Nevada, his daughter Cindy Andersson of Taiwan, his step-daughter Wendy MacDonald (Alan Sleep) of Elk Grove, his son Scott Andersson (Sally) of Oregon City, Oregon, grandsons Tim, Sean and Jacob of Oregon City, Oregon, and Benson (the cat).

In the 60's and 70's he worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, the Bevatron and Hurst Mining Division at LBL and Systron Donner in Concord.

Proud ECV member of Chapters 13, 5, 69 and YB1, Master Mason, Elk, Moose and burner. A Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Park at the Isleton Ball Park. There will be a potluck at the park, with a barbeque available - A Halvard Event. Non- clampers are invited to wear their Hawaiian shirts. Donations can be made in Halvard's memory to the Cancer Society of your choice.

Just talked with Halvard Andersson's Widder, Charlene. She told me services will be held on October 7 at 1:30pm. Location is Isleton Baseball Field at Terminous Road and Andrus Court in Isleton. As Halvard loved potlucks with his ECV Brothers, there will be a Potluck after the services. Please bring a dish if you can. As always, where your best Clamper Duds!
