John Koch, resident of this city since 1861, died this morning at the home, 1030 South 13th St., after having suffered several strokes. He would have been 80 years old the 28th of this month.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 o'clock at St. Boniface Catholic church, with burial at Calvary cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 7 o'clock tonight until the hour of the funeral.

Mr. Koch was born in Germany on Sept. 28, 1859, and he came to America and immediately to Manitowoc with his parents in 1861. He married Theresa Stockert here in 1883. Before his retirement because of ill health several years ago, he had been an employee of the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co.

Survivors of Mr. Koch are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. William Musil, Mrs. William Koepsel, and Mrs. John Schlei, all of this city; three sons, Ray, John and Erwin Koch, all of this city; two brothers, Matt Koch of this city and Henry Koch of Francis Creek; one sister, Mrs. Mary Holsen of Milwaukee, 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Koch was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Boniface Catholic church.
