MRS. P. THIELEN PASSES AWAY AT HOSPITAL
End Comes After Two Weeks’ Battle and Claims Mother of Four

Death was victor today over Mrs. Peter Thielen who for two weeks has waged a hard fight to live only to be vanquished. The end came at the Holy Family hospital at 7 o’clock this morning and news of her death will be a shock to friends who had believed that the crisis was passed and that Mrs. Thielen would live. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning from the family home 1518 Division street at 8:30 to St. Boniface church at where Monsg. Piel and the Revs. Kersten and Letz will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery.

Ill But Short Time.
Mrs. Thielen’s death followed an acute attack of appendicitis which necessitated an immediate operation. She was removed to the hospital at 5 o’clock March 31 and was operated three hours later and her condition had not been hopeful. For days it was feared that the end was at hand but two days ago there was a glimmer of hope that went out with a sinking spell early this morning and the end was calm and peaceful.

Native of This city.
Born in Manitowoc October 1886, Mrs. Thielen was 42 at death and had spent her life here. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Koch, both of whom survive and was married to Mr. Thielen 22 years ago.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Thielen is survived by three sons, Eugene, Lester and George and one daughter, Marie. Another daughter, Katherine, died several years ago. Three brothers, John Koch, Raymond and Erwin and three sisters, Mrs. William Koepsel, Mrs. William Musil and Mrs. John Schley, also survive.

Mrs. Thielen was a member of the St. Ann Society. Mrs. Thielen was well known, having been identified with her husband in the conduct of amusement enterprises for many years and was familiar to amusement patrons of the city.

Her death is a heavy loss to her family and will be deplored by a large circle of friends.
