After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Janet Bruemmer joined her husband Silas in heaven on March 25, 2009. Silas preceded her in death in 1991. She was born in Marinette, the daughter of the late Clifford and Alice (Brownell) May.
She was a devoted mother to her two sons Mark and Steven and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed family gatherings.
She was a member of the Peshtigo United Methodist Church, a member of the Little River County Club and over the years, her free time was spent golfing and playing bridge.
Janet is survived by her two sons: Mark (Marge) of Marinette, WI and Steven (Heather) of Sun Prairie, WI;
a brother Sam May of Peshtigo, WI;
a sister Margaret (Del) Hilsabeck of Pascagoula, Mississippi;
2 grandchildren: Marc and Lauren Hope Bruemmer;
2 step-grandchildren: Laurie Roy and Jeff Trudell,;
5 great-grandchildren: Evan, Brooke, Jenna, Alexandra and Drew;
and her very special friend, Kathy Selby.
Besides her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara (Clifford) Tebo; 3 brothers: Clifford (Blair) May, Harold May and an infant brother Harvey May, and her step father-in-law, Edward Hipke.
