Seriously ill for several months, Mrs. Mamie Bening, resident of Streator for a half century, died at 1:45 o'clock Thursday morning at 220 Water St., where she had made her home with her granddaughter, Mrs. Charles McCormick, who cared for her during her illness.

The body is at the Winterrowd funeral home, where friends may call and the rosary will be said there tonight at 8 o'clock Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 9 o'clock in the Immaculate Conception church with burial following in St. Mary's cemetery.

The daughter of John and Mary (Barrole) Mazzola, the decedent was born in Belmonte, Italy, and grew to young womanhood there, where she was married. She and her husband, Louis Bening, came to Streator 50 years ago, the latter's death occurring here 12 years ago. They became the parents of three children, one of whom, Mrs. George (Della) Mazzola, is deceased. Following her death, the Benings reared her four daughters: Mrs. Madge McCormick, Mrs. George (Mae) Mehall, Mrs. Ralph (Jennie) Wilsman, and Mrs. Ralph (Louise) Weiss.

Surviving Mrs. Bening are: a daughter: Mrs. Jennie Pizzo, and a son: Joseph Bening, both of Chicago; one sister: Mrs. Joe (Christina) Benning of Streator; one brother: Joseph Mazzola of Streator; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
