Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Jones Mitchell, 87, who died at her home in Saundersville, Wednesday, April 1, 1953 at 2:15 pm after an illness of four months, were held at Saundersville on Friday, April 3rd, conducted by the Rev. Thomas DeRamus. Burial was in the Gallatin Cemetery.
A native of Texas, Mrs. Mitchell came to Sumner County when only one year old. The remainder of her life was spent in the Cottontown and Saundersville communities.
Her husband, John R. Mitchell, died several years ago. She is survived by one son, John Leddy Mitchell of Sumner County and two grandsons and three great-grandsons.
