Mrs. Louise Schmeichel Carpenter, 43, died at the University hospital in Iowa City at 3:15 p.m. on Friday following a week's illness. Her home was at 1158 New Hampshire street.
The daughter of Henry and Louise Seigel Schmeichel, she was born in Muscatine on March 4, 1899, and resided her all her life. On April 6, 1922 she was united in marriage to Harry O. (Hal) Carpenter in Muscatine.
She is survived by her husband, one sister, Mrs. Esther Fahy, Muscatine, and one brother, Arthur Schmeichel, also of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
The body will be returned to the home late this afternoon and services will be conducted from Mulford Congregational church at 2:30 Monday afternoon with Rev. Milton White, pastor of the church, in charge.
Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery under the direction of the Fairbanks funeral home.
