Heinzen, Peter Joseph (Dec. 9, 1828-June 8, 1896 –husband of Katharine Beth [married March 30, 1853 in Town of Manitowoc Rapids] –son of John Anton Heinzen and Maria Magdalena Platten [John and Maria were married on Jan. 15, 1818 at Mittelstrimmig, Baden –John is the son of Anton Heinzen and Susanne Justen –Magdalena is the daughter of John Platten and Margarethe Knoeppel] –born Mittelstrimmig, Baden –arrived in the US via New York in June of 1846 and stayed with his brother Jake Heinzen in Sheboygan –moved to Manitowoc County in 1848 –applied for naturalization on July 6, 1848 –farmer in Town of Eaton –on March 2, 1863, Peter purchased the 80 acres of the W1/2 of the SW1/4 of Section 36, Town of Eaton and created a farmstead at 9517 Greendale Road –on July 7, 1890 sold this 80 acre farm to his son Frank Heinzen –on July 7, 1875, Peter purchased the 42.54 acres of the NE1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section 2, Town of Schleswig –this land then became part of his farm at 9517 Greendale Road –on April 8, 1887, Peter sold the southern 20 acres of this land to his son-in-law Joseph Hecker and on July 7, 1890 sold the northern 20 acres of this land to his son-in-law Joseph Hecker –on May 1, 1885 purchased the 30 acre farm at 20012 County C in Section 22, Town of Eaton from his wife’s brother-in-law John Roemer and his wife Gertrude Beth –on Oct. 9, 1888 purchased the 40 acres of the NW1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section 27, Town of Eaton –these 40 acres then became part of the Peter Heinzen farm at 20012 County C in Section 22 –on April 25, 1889, Peter sold his 70 acre farm at 20012 County C to his son Mathias Heinzen) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 6, Lot 4 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 1-8] [death record Manitowoc 5-7]
