Heinzen, Peter Joseph (April 19, 1858-July 20, 1941 –husband of Maria Riesterer [married Feb. 11, 1890 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –after Maria died on Jan. 2, 1892, Peter re-married to Ottilia Lulloff [married Jan. 23, 1894 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Peter Joseph Heinzen and Katherine Beth –born Town of Manitowoc Rapids –mason and farmer –in the 1900 census for the Town of Eaton, Peter and his second wife Ottilia are shown living alone in a house in St. Nazianz –in the 1905 census for the Town of Eaton, Peter and Ottilia are shown living in a house in St. Nazianz –living with them was their 5 year old son Joseph plus Ottilia’s widowed mother Wilhelmina Voss Lulloff [age 68] –“He followed the mason trade and remained in St. Nazianz until 1913. In 1913 moved to a farm near Branch where they remained until 1934. They sold their farm and returned to St. Nazianz.” –from May 16, 1895 to June 26, 1897 lived at 112 South Fifth Avenue in St. Nazianz –on Oct. 1, 1935 purchased the house at 204 Church Street in St. Nazianz –lived here until his death in 1941 –his widow Ottilia continued to live here until selling on June 2, 1953 –soon after this sale, Ottilia died on March 9, 1954 –died from “chronic myocarditis –senility”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 16, Lot 8 –stone] [first marriage record Manitowoc 6-43] [second marriage record Manitowoc 6-231] [death record Manitowoc 34-501]

PETER HEINZEN, 82, lifelong resident of the county, died Sunday morning at his home in St. Nazianz.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Gregory's Catholic church, with the Rev. Fintan Holsknecht officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born in Manitowoc Rapids in 1858. In 1890 he married Miss Mary Riesterer who died two years later. In 1894 he married Miss Ottilia Lulloff.
He followed the mason trade and the couple resided at St. Nazianz for 19 years. In 1913 they moved to a farm near Branch where they remained 21 years. They sold the farm and returned to St. Nazianz.
Survivors are the widow; sister, Mrs. Bernard Gehrig of St. Nazianz; two brothers, Frank of St. Nazianz, Joseph of Phlox, Wis. The Heinzens had no children but adopted a son, Joseph, who lived on the farm with them at
Branch and died in 1933.
The body may be viewed at the Kellenbenz funeral home.
