Kellenbenz, Gertrude nee Platten (Sept. 6, 1856-April 30, 1946 –wife of George Kellenbenz [married in 1882 in Colorado] –daughter of Peter K. Platten and Katherine Meyer –born at Pine Grove, Brown County –moved with her parents and siblings to the St. Nazianz area in 1863 –lived in Hustisford, Dodge County until retiring and moving to St. Nazianz in 1921 –adoptive mother of Walter Kellenbenz, who was the well-known undertaker in St. Nazianz –died from “myocardial failure and chronic myocarditis”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 3, Row 6, Lot 24 –stone] [married in Colorado] [death record Manitowoc 39-305]

GERTRUDE KELLENBENZ, 90, pioneer county resident, died last night at the home of her son, Walter, in St. Nazianz.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory's Catholic church, St. Nazianz, the Rev. Finton Holzknecht officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Kellenbenz, nee Gertrude Platten, was born at Pine Grove, Wis., in 1855 and came to this county with her parents in 1863. She was married in Colorado in 1882 to George Kellenbenz. They later located in Dodge county and after retiring moved to St. Nazianz. Mr. Kellenbenz died in 1921.
She was a member of the Christian Mothers and the Third Order of St. Francis.
Survivors are two sons, Walter of St. Nazianz, George of Eau Claire; brother, Peter of St. Nazianz; sister, Mrs. Susan Burkard of St. Nazianz; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
