Lotten, Katherine nee Scharenbroch (June 22, 1884-July 31, 1954 –wife of Nels Lotten [after their marriage, they moved briefly to California, then moved back to a farm in the Town of Meeme –Nels was born about 1892 of Hagen Lotten and Bertha Qualley –he died in the City of Fordsville, North Dakota on Sept. 2, 1938] –daughter of Christian Scharenbroch and Mary Magdeline Herr [Christian and Mary are buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery, School Hill, Town of Meeme –Christian Feb. 2, 1845-Oct. 15, 1926 –Mary Magdeline Feb. 10, 1854-Nov. 29, 1928] –born at School Hill, Town of Meeme –from March 15, 1910 to Dec. 8, 1919, Nels and Katherine Lotten owned the 60 acre farm at 9404 Greendale Road in Section 35, Town of Eaton –on May 13, 1941, as a widow, Katherine purchased the house at 110 South Fourth Avenue in St. Nazianz –Katherine lived here until selling on Feb. 27, 1946 to her two daughters Margaret Henschel and Magdalena Koehler –died from “myocardial degeneration, mitral valvular insufficiency –bed ridden for 24 years –probable childhood rheumatic fever, pulmonary edema”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 4, Row 2, Lot 25] [death record Manitowoc 47-550]

KATHERINE LOTTEN

Mrs. Nels Lotten. 70, of St. Nazianz, died late Saturday afternoon at Whitelaw, Wis., after a lingering illness.

Nee Katherine Scharenbrock, she was born June 22, 1884, at School Hill, and moved to California after her marriage to Nels Lotten on Feb. 18, 1909. Following his death on Sept. 2, 1937, she returned to ManitowocCounty, making her home at St. Nazianz for the past 14 years.
Mrs. Lotten was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazinaz, and was affiliated with the Christian Mothers' Society of the parish and the Third Order of St. Francis.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Margaret) Kretsch St. Nazianz, and Mrs. Clarence (Madeline) Koehler, Hayton,Wis.; six grandchildren; four brothers, Joseph and William Scharenbrock, of School Hill, John, of Silver Lake. Wis.. and Peter, of St. Nazianz. and a sister, Miss Anna Scharenbrock, in California.
Two daughters also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday at St. Gregory Church with the Rev. Frederick Dorn, pastor, the celebrant of the requiem high mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
The body will be in state at the Kellenbenz Funeral home at St. Nazianz until 9 a. m. Tuesday.
Members of the Christian Mother's Society and the Third Order of St. Francis will hold a joint vigil at the funeral home at 8 o'clock tonight. Father Dorn will lead the rosary.
