"Henry - Gertrude A. Schubert, 102, of St. Joseph's Home in Lacon, formerly of Henry, died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. She was born May 2, 1902, in Henry to Vincent and Martha Seichter Schubert. Surviving is one brother, Clement of Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. She was a housekeeper at the churches where her brother, the Rev. Henry Schubert, was assigned. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Henry, where a funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Thomas Mizeur will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ries-McKitrick & Newton Mortuary in Henry. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery."

Gertrude and her elderly father went to live with her brother, a Catholic priest, following the death of their elderly mother. She was the support and caregiver to her aging parents and for 85 years, companion to her brother throughout his life and ministry.
