Stahl, Josepha nee Zech (Feb. 4, 1851-June 13, 1930 –wife of Gregor Stahl [married June 28, 1870 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –daughter of Jacob Zech and Josephine Schmidt –born Wurttemberg, Germany –immigrated to the US with her parents when a child –after the death of her husband Gregor on Nov. 22, 1916, Josepha owned the Stahl farm at 23215 US Highway 151 in Section 17, Town of Eaton until selling to her sons John and Nic Stahl on April 10, 1929 –died from “chronic interstitial nephritis –uremia”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 1, Row 13, Lot 25 –family stone in 1-13-26] [marriage record Manitowoc 4-41] [death record Manitowoc 25-649]

JOSEPHA STAHL

June 19 (23), 1930. St. Nazianz. Mrs. Josepha Stahl died at the home of her son John on the homestead farm on Friday evening at 11:50 o'clock. She was born Feb. 4, 1851 in Wittenberg, Germany and came to America with her parents as a girl. Funeral services took place
on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock after a solemn requiem mass which was sung by Rev. Fintan Holzknecht, assisted by two Salvatorian
Fathers. The husband of Mrs. Stahl died several years ago. Those who mourn her death are five children, as follows: John Stahl of near Hayton, Henry and Nic. and Mrs. Joseph Salm of Meeme and Mrs. Leona Salm of near New Holstein. A number of grandchildren and great- grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Stahl was a member of the Christian Mother's and Third Order of St. Francis.
