Peter Stein Rites Held Wednesday A. M.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning for Peter Stein, 83, at St. Gregory's church in St. Nazianz. Mr. Stein, died at Holy Family hospital Sunday.
He was born in the town of Meeme September 29, 1874. February 13, 1900, he married Miss Theresa Schneider. They lived onthe homestead farm in Meeme until his retirement in 1936, whenthey moved to St. Nazianz. She died in 1939.
He is survived by five sons, William, Chilton; Arthur, Newton;Peter, jr., Valders; Alfred, Sheboygan, and Sylvester, at home;six daughters, Mrs, Henry Miller, Cleveland: Mrs. Peter Felton,Sheboygan; Mrs. John Meyer and Mrs. Steve Meyer, both of Valders;Mrs. F. Jurk and Mrs. Viola Schill, both of Manitowoc; 45grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. - Oct. 24, 1957

Schneider [married Feb. 13, 1900 at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Spring Valley, Town of Meeme] –son of Peter Stein and Eva Orth [Peter and Eva are buried at St. Fidelis Cemetery, Spring Valley, Town of Meeme –Peter Nov. 10, 1825-April 29, 1910, born Mainz, Bavaria –Eva Dec. 12, 1841-March 5, 1910, born Trier, Germany near St. Wendel –Peter and Eva were married April 9, 1860 at St. Wendel, Cleveland, Town of Centerville –Peter immigrated to US in 1843 –Eva arrived in New York on the ship Confederation from Havre, France on April 23, 1855 –traveling with her were her parents, John and Angela Orth, plus 4 siblings –Mathias, John, Nicholas and Anna] –born Town of Meeme –farmer in Town of Meeme –in 1936 retired from the farm and moved to St. Nazianz –on Aug. 11, 1936 purchased the house at 111 South Fifth Avenue –Theresa lived here until her death in 1939 –Peter lived here until his death in 1957 –died from "myocardial infarction, coronary occlusion, arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, benign prostatic hypertrophy") – 2-15-5
