She was born Nov. 29, 1935, in Menard, Texas, to Narciso and Estafana DeLeon Marez.
On July 28, 1951, she married Ismael M. Fonseca in Brownfield, Texas. They moved to Holcomb in 1965 and to Garden City in 1973. He died Oct. 7, 1993. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Albert and Armando Fonseca; and a grandson.
Survivors include a son, Oscar Fonseca of Dodge City; five daughters, Mary Reyes, Sylvia Abundiz and Cynthia Dominguez, all of Dodge City, and Noemi Estrada and Anamarie Lopez, both of Garden City; two brothers, Sotero Marez of Garden City, and Manuel Marez of Orange County, Calif.; two sisters, Seniada Torres of Garden City, and Margarita Tapia of Brownfield; 29 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Cornerstone Church, Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
